Students who pursue a minor in Geographic Information Science (GIS) will be ready to claim jobs in a newly emerging and high-demand STEM employment market where geographic data and visualization has become crucial to decision-making in both private industry and public policy. With plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning, you'll develop valuable skills in the use of Geographic Information Systems, including the analysis of remotely sensed (aerial, satellite, and drone) imagery, and complete research projects proposing solutions to real-world problems.
Add the GIS minor to your program of study by emailing Dr. Jeff Torguson or Department Chair Dr. Gareth John to express your interest.
